Who We Are

A diaspora-founded house devoted to the honest cup.

Founded in Windsor, Canada, by diaspora entrepreneurs with deep roots in the Kaffa highlands, Caffa Coffee exists to close the distance between origin and cup. We are not a mass-market roaster. We are a specialty house — selective, transparent, and relentlessly focused on quality.

Every lot we offer is hand-selected, fully traceable, and roasted in small batches to honour the unique character of its origin. From the misty forests of Sidamo to the sun-drenched hills of Guji, we bring Ethiopia's finest to Canada's most discerning palates.

Eliminate Extraction

Traditional coffee supply chains pass through four to six intermediaries before reaching the roaster. Each layer takes a margin. The farmer — whose hands planted, picked, and processed the cherry — sees the least. We built Caffa to remove those layers entirely.

Transparent Access

We publish what we pay. Every contract is direct. Every lot is traceable from washing station to roast date. Our customers know the name of the cooperative, the altitude of the farm, and the price paid at the gate.

Royal Equity

We believe the people who grow the world's finest coffee deserve dignity, security, and a fair share of the value they create. A portion of every kilo sold funds schools, water projects, and washing station upgrades across our partner communities.

Origin & Traceability

Sourced from the misty micro-climates of Sidamo, Bensa, and Guji.

Our coffee is grown at elevations between 1,800 and 2,200 metres above sea level, where cool nights, volcanic soils, and dense cloud cover create the perfect conditions for slow, flavour-dense cherry development.

Only micro-lots scoring 90 to 95.5 on the SCA scale.

We exclusively feature micro-lots that have been rigorously cupped and scored by Q-graders. Clean natural and honey processes, roasted to preserve every nuance the farm intended.

Strict Sensory Standards

Every lot undergoes multiple cupping sessions by certified Q-graders before it earns a place in our catalogue. We evaluate fragrance, aroma, flavour, aftertaste, acidity, body, balance, uniformity, cleanliness, and sweetness — rejecting anything that falls below 90 points.

Processing Methods

We favour clean natural and honey processes that allow the terroir to speak without interference. Washed lots are selected only when the cup profile demands absolute clarity and brightness.

Roast Profiles

From vibrant light-medium roasts that highlight floral and citrus top notes, to deep artisanal profiles that bring forward chocolate, caramel, and dried fruit — each batch is developed through dozens of test roasts until the profile honours the bean's origin story.
